Michael Keaton Says He's Going to Start Using His Real Name

Michael Keaton, the actor known for his roles in “Batman” and “Birdman,” says he is going to start using his real name, Michael Douglas.

Keaton has used the stage name Michael Keaton since the beginning of his career in the 1970s. He said he decided to start using his real name because he wants to be more authentic.

“I've always felt like I was hiding behind a mask when I used the name Michael Keaton,” Keaton said. “I'm proud of the work I've done under that name, but it's time for me to be myself.”

Keaton said he will continue to use the name Michael Keaton for his acting roles, but he will start using his real name in all other aspects of his life.

“I think it's important to be authentic, and I'm finally ready to be myself,” Keaton said.
