Passenger Vehicle and Scooter Sales Show Contrasting Trends

The Indian automotive industry witnessed contrasting trends in passenger vehicle and scooter sales during July 2023.

Passenger vehicle sales declined by 25% year-over-year to 341,510 units, as original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) adjusted their dispatches.

In contrast, scooter sales soared by an impressive 292%, reaching 553,642 units, compared to 428,640 units in July 2022.

Two-Wheeler and Three-Wheeler Sales Surge

Two-wheeler wholesales surged by 125% to 1,441,694 units, while three-wheeler sales increased by 51% to 59,073 units.

Passenger carriers within the three-wheeler segment saw a significant growth of 87% to 48,331 units.
