Georgios Giakoumakis Signs with Atlanta United FC

Atlanta, GA - Atlanta United FC announced Tuesday the signing of Greek striker Georgios Giakoumakis from Celtic FC. The 29-year-old striker has signed a three-year contract with the club.
Giakoumakis has been a key player for Celtic, scoring 29 goals in 57 appearances across all competitions since joining the club in 2021. He was also named the Scottish Premiership Player of the Year for the 2021-22 season.
"Georgios is a top-class striker who has a proven track record of success at the highest level," said Atlanta United FC President and CEO Darren Eales. "We are delighted to have him join our club and believe he will be a valuable addition to our team."
Giakoumakis is expected to make his Atlanta United FC debut on May 6 when the team hosts the New England Revolution at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
