Leslye Headland Brings a New Star Wars Series to Disney with The Acolyte
The Acolyte is a mystery-thriller that will take viewers back to the High Republic era, a time of great peace and prosperity in the galaxy. However, the series will also explore the dark side of the Force and the rise of the Sith. The cast of The Acolyte has not yet been announced but is expected to include a number of well-known actors.
Headland is a writer, director, and producer who is best known for her work on the Netflix series Russian Doll. She is also the co-creator of the upcoming Amazon series The Power. Headland is a fan of Star Wars and has said that she is excited to bring her own unique vision to the franchise.
The Acolyte is one of several new Star Wars series that are in development for Disney Plus. Other series include The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Ahsoka. The Acolyte is expected to premiere on Disney Plus in 2023.
