Max Verstappen Extends Championship Lead
Lando Norris Claims Maiden Victory
Max Verstappen has extended his championship lead after a dominant victory at the Italian Grand Prix. The Red Bull driver took the chequered flag ahead of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton.
Verstappen now has a 32-point advantage over Leclerc in the standings, with Hamilton a further 25 points behind. The Dutchman has won six of the 15 races held so far this season and is on course to secure his third consecutive world title.
Lando Norris made history at the Italian Grand Prix by claiming his first Formula 1 victory. The McLaren driver held off challenges from Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso to cross the line first.
Norris' victory was McLaren's first since 2012 and was a major boost for the team in its battle for P4 in the constructors' championship.
